March Madness

Are any men interested in getting together some time to watch a little NCAA Tournament action? I thought this would be a good opportunity for some men to get together and socialize, drink beer, and watch sports.

Sounds like a great idea. I would definitely enjoy watching some games at a sports bar! Keep me posted. I'm out of town this weekend, but next weekend would work for me.

We have Sweet 16 March 27-28, Elite 8 March 29-30, and Final Four the following Saturday, April 5. As far as I can tell, any day is good for me. Do you have a preference?

between the 2 of us, why not try for all 3 weekends? We can do something impromptu, and get Lauren to put it on the newsletter. Perhaps, if everyone likes the forum, we can use the forum to arrange.

Got any good spots in mind? I'm not a big fan of Chief's, it's usually too smoky. Other than that, I don't have any preferences.

I'm not sure what the best place would be. There is a new bar at the West End right near the stadium, but I've never been there to know what it is like. Bailey's on Laurens would probably be good as long as it didn't get too crowded. They have a pool room with at least 4 tv's and 4 pool tables. Sharkey's on Main Street also comes to mind, but I haven't been there either. Wild Wings is also an option.

Mellow Mushroom has a good amount of TV's and a good beer selection. I like Wild Wings. Only problem I have with Barley's is that the TV's are small. I've heard good things about Bailey's and Sharkey's.

I asked Lauren to send an email to all the DOC for it, so hopefully it'll garner some interest.

Let's set something up for this upcoming weekend. Do you know if there is a place that may have outside seating and TV's. Unfortunately, I can't find a time for the games, but I would think late afternoon or early evening. I will try to call Lauren and get her to put a blurb in the upcoming newsletter, and we can finalize the time when we get the new info.

I added it to the calendar, but should mention it here. We're meeting at Bailey's on Lauren's Rd at 7pm Saturday, March 29. Originally, Matt and I were planning on it being a Guys Event, but I think that anyone that wants to come is welcome. Matt, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...
